Description:

Have you ever attended a conference, and surprisingly gotten just as much out of the discussions that you had in small groups or with individuals during the breaks and socials? One of the toughest challenges of working remotely is the lack of ad hoc conversations of opportunity.

Fortunately, those conversations can still happen virtually. Harvesting the Knowledge in the Room will demonstrate how. We’ll begin with a group brainstorming session that will allow all voices to be heard simultaneously. Next, we’ll tap into the combined intellectual horsepower of the group to make sense of all the ideas. Finally, we’ll introduce a technique called Open Space in which participants can opt in and out of conversations of their own choosing.

Prior to the event:

  1. Please update to the latest version of Zoom. Here’s how: https://support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/201362233-Upgrade-update-to-the-latest-version.
  2. Be prepared to participate! This is NOT a presentation. No slides will be shown. This will be an event requiring your active engagement.
  3. Finally, think about how you might answer the following question: What are the toughest challenges facing virtual training today?
